About me
Sergio Maya was born in Mexico City on December 20, 1968, married with two daughters.
He studied Industrial Relations at the Universidad Anáhuac del Sur (Professional ID 2137981) and a Master's Degree in Administration from the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM) (Professional ID 2525753).
He completed a Diploma in Political Science at the University of San Diego, California (UCSD). He has participated in various finance and tax courses. In 2006 he completed the Diploma in Real Estate and Capital Markets at Harvard Business School, as well as the Master's Degree at the Harvard Business School, ending in May 2008.
He served as General Director of Newt Corporation in Latin America from October 2019 to July 2022, a Mexico-Canada company dedicated to Information Technology, managing 5 group companies including a SOFOM.
He founded the company Maxicel, dedicated to the transactional financial model, awarded the Technological Merit awarded by CONACYT in 2009 and with more than 20 patents worldwide.
Partner and founder of the company Conimaan, a business incubator since 2004. He is currently a partner and founder of various companies, all operating in the national market such as 10VIA, Nebelsys, Seguros Aquí and Promarine.
He served as General Director of Innovative de México RLS, S. de R.L. de C.V., a company dedicated to recycling and leader in the national market. Member of the Board of Directors in the United States corporate and shareholder of the same for 5 years.
He served as Controller and Director of Land Security for Interjet Airlines from 2005 to 2007.
He is an independent consultant in matters of public finance and accounting for several States and Municipalities, as well as in the Senate of the Republic during the LXIV.
He served as Undersecretary of Finance and Administration in the State of Veracruz, from 1998 to 2004. Director of Finance in the Presidency of Newscasts and the Presidency of Television Directo al Hogar (Direct to Home) of Televisa. He has held other management positions in transnational companies such as Holcim Apasco and Grupo Desc.
